Start by checking the registration confirmation and the domain details in your account. Payment confirmation alone does not mean the registrar has completed registration.
Check the details
Confirm the domain spelling, registrant information and expiry date. Follow any registry or registrar contact-verification instructions. Keep access to the registrant email address.
Secure your account
Use a unique password and protect the email account used for recovery. Keep recovery codes private. Sign out of shared devices.
Connect your website or email
Choose your hosting or email provider separately, obtain its DNS instructions and review the changes in your domain account. Connecting a service can take time because DNS resolvers cache records.
Plan for renewal
Review the renewal status and next expiry date. Keep contact details current. A failed payment, an ignored renewal notice or an incorrect email address can put the domain at risk of expiring.
