Privacy policy

How STEINBERG LTD handles personal data for RegisterDomain.uk accounts, domain registrations, payments, support and optional analytics.

This policy explains how STEINBERG LTD, company number 17242845, uses personal information when operating RegisterDomain.uk. We are the controller for our customer-service activities. Our registered office is 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX.

Information we use

  • Account and registrant details, such as your name, email address, postal address and telephone number.
  • Order, payment-reference, domain, renewal and transfer information.
  • Support messages and records needed to investigate requests.
  • Security records needed to protect accounts and prevent abuse.
  • Optional analytics described in our cookie policy, when you agree.

Why we use it

We process account, order and registrant information to enter into and perform our contract with you. We use necessary billing and statutory records to meet legal obligations. Protecting the service, investigating misuse and resolving complaints are legitimate interests, assessed against your rights. Optional analytics uses your consent, which you can withdraw.

Service providers and registries

We share the details necessary for domain registration and management with Openprovider and the relevant registry. Registries and registrars may use information under their own legal duties and published policies. Stripe processes payment details; we do not need your full card number in support messages. Cloudflare provides website, storage, security and transactional infrastructure. ClouDNS receives the domain and DNS configuration needed for managed DNS. Access is limited to the relevant service purpose.

International processing

Our service providers and domain registries may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we use an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. You can ask us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

Retention

We keep information for the time needed to provide the service, handle disputes, protect accounts and meet applicable record-keeping obligations. Domain and billing records may need to remain after an account closes. Optional analytics records are retained for up to 90 days. Retention is assessed by data category and purpose; we do not promise immediate removal of records we must lawfully keep.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive a portable copy of your information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful use. We may request identity evidence and explain any legal limits to a request.

Contact and complaints

Use our contact form or write to our registered office, marked “RegisterDomain.uk privacy”. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Raising a concern with us does not remove that right.
